I have avoided cutting Julia's hair for 4 years! I never wanted to cut off her cute little baby curl. All I ever did was trim her bangs and finally recently gave a little trim to the back. Then, on a day of neglectful mothering, Julia took the scissors to her own hair. I was devastated! I loved her beautiful long princess hair. I thought it was awful. However, once I took her to a "professional" (we had a talk about who is allowed to cut hair), I started to have hope again. It wasn't that bad. They were able to layer it so it didn't have to be cut too short. Her bangs are about as short as they get, but they'll grow fast I'm sure. She's still our beautiful Julia - when its curled. I think she looks a little Mia Farrow-ish when I leave it straight.
She LOVED getting her hair cut. We just went to Fantastic Sam's, but the girl was super nice and she and Julia chatted the whole time. She told the hair stylist that she didn't want it cut short like a boys - just short like her mom's. After that, Julia had a huge smile the whole time her hair was being cut. It was too darling.

Whew! Updated!
Well, after discovering the 1,045 pictures on our camera after Halloween, I thought it must be time to update the blog! Here are a bunch of slide shows of what we've been doing the last few months. I have a hard time being choosy, I love all my kids pics. They are just too darn cute. Go ahead and click through the slides so they'll go faster! I think there are about 10 new posts, so be sure to click on "older posts" to read them all!
Halloween 09
Halloween Day we went to Pumpkinland. We went through the corn maze and looked at all the animals, jumped on blow up toys, played at their playground, went through a "light alley" and picked a few more pumpkins to take home and decorate. Julia arranged the pumpkin "family" on our door step. Trick or treating was an experience that I'm glad only happens once a year. Taking our kids for any kind of a walk is like dragging snails. We went down two culdesacs in our neighborhood then back to our house and it took an hour. The kids bags probably had 15 pieces of candy each.
Liam would say, "Trick or Treat, I need treats." Julia has been wearing her Snow White costume for about 5 days now.

Julia's 4th birthday.
Julia had a hard time waiting for her princess birthday party. She is very much into birthdays and loves to pretend to have parties, so this was a fun birthday for her. We had a ton of her little sunbeam friends come, plus Gary and Sara and Joshua and Grandma and Grandpa Wainwright and Uncle Brandon and Aunt Valerie came up from St. George. Aunt Keira and Uncle Renn also came. All the kids got to decorate their own crowns and wands. I sewed princess skirts for all the girls and Mark made capes for the boys. The dress-up station was complete with a full-length mirror and necklaces for the girls to wear. Mark set up a treasure hunt with a treasure box filled with "goody bags" for all the guests. The girls' bags had jeweled rings, princess stickers, princess suckers, princess fruit snacks and stick-on earrings. The boys bags were less themed. (Ask Julia what you need for a birthday party and she'll tell you, 'balloons, cake, party hats, presents, and goody bags.') Aunt Valerie helped decorate and we had the yard beautified for a festive royal celebration.
Random summer fun.
Run-ins with mud, diapers in the bath, dinosaur museum!, the too much toilet paper phase, cold day, fun with cousins, night at Sand Hollow, nudy Julia, plain old fashioned good times!
