overheard:
J - "You're in love with Mommy! I thought you were going to be in love with me?"

Thankful for stuff.

Liam said the prayer at dinner the other night. As usual, it was short but sweet. Julia always wants to help. It went something like this:

L - "Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ, Amen."
J - "You forgot the stuff!"
L - "Heavenly Father, thank you for stuff..."
I think at this point Mark may have helped a little and reminded him to bless the food, Julia probably did too. I can't remember. I think I was giggling.

drink it up

me - "Drink it all up."
L - "I don't want to drink it up. I want to drink it down."

L - "I drank it down, down, down!"

Never say, "I can't" to a child without proof.

While playing at the park with Liam, I obliged all his wishes of climbing stairs and sliding down slides until we came to the tunnel/tube.
L - "Come on, Mom."
Me - "I can't. I'm too big."
Liam's face told me that he was shocked, confused, and disappointed at my unsatisfactory response.
L-"But you have to try."
Of course! How dare I tell him that I can't when I haven't even tried.
I crawled through the tunnel. Guess what? I could.
