another prayer for dinosaurs
Last night it was Liam's turn for the family prayer. He folded his arms, then looked up and said, "My prayer is going to be about dinosaurs" as if he were asking us if that is o.k. We said o.k. then he proceded, "Heavenly Father, I really like dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are my favorite. Amen."

Liam the Jr. Paleontologist
For a while Liam has been asking for some new dinosaurs. He has a lot of dinosaurs. I wasn't planning on getting him more just cuz he wanted more. But today I felt the urge to shop and we went to a fun toy store just to play and have fun. Liam thought the store was "AWESOME" and he had a lot of fun looking at all there was to see and playing with the display toys. I enjoyed having a chance to do something fun with him since he was sad he didn't get to go to school with Julia. When we dropped her off he told her, "I will miss you, Julia," in the saddest little voice. The store (its called Funfinity) was really fun and Liam had a blast. I'm so glad we went even though we found expensive dinosaurs that I couldn't avoid buying. He was at least really good to pick only the two that they had that he doesn't have yet. A Spinosaurus and a Deinonychus raptor. He played with those toys through two more stores and visiting teaching with me and never let them go.
Tonight at bed-time his prayer sounded something like this:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this dinosaur. Thank you for the food that we ate. I'm sorry that I didn't eat all my food. I'm really really sorry, Mom. Please bless this dinosaur that he will stomp and womp all over with his friends in the cretaceous forest. Amen.
:) I'm not sorry for splurging a little.
And for the sake of documenting my son's genius dinosaur knowledge, here are all the dinosaurs that Liam can identify: (I may spell some of these wrong)
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Giganotosaurus
Ceratosaurus
Spinosaurus
Triceratops
Protoceratops ("prototriceratops")
Styraccosaurus
Brontosaurus (now known as Apatosaurus, he's slowly starting to accept this new name)
Brachiosaurus
Iguanodon
raptor
velociraptor
Pteranadon
Ankylosaurus
Stegosaurus
Parasaurolophus ("parasaurusolophus")
Dilophosaurus
Corythosaurus
Pachycephalosaurus
Dunkleosteus
*these next ones he sometimes remembers and sometimes gets confused*
Kentrosaurus
Carnotaurus
Deinonychus
Archaeopteryx
Euoplacephalus
Dimetrodon
Isn't my kid amazing?
He's hilarious. I love when he comes to me and tells me what dinosaur he is, then says, "You wanna hear my roar?" He's got a pretty good roar. He also has a pretty good therapod dinosaur walk. He knows to only hold two fingers out when he is playing Tyrannosaurus Rex. Sometimes when he is being really grumpy I can calm him down by playing a "guess the dinosaur" game. He really likes that. He loves one piece pajamas, especially if they have feet in them. He thinks he looks like a dinosaur in them.
