I'm not sure if this is going to be a long ramble or a short one, but I thought I'd let you know ahead of time so you don't have to waste your time reading if you don't feel like it.
I'm going back to BYU in the spring. School starts in only 2 months and I am so nervous about it. I'm starting to realize how much hard work it is going to be. I'll be in my last months of my pregnancy, then have a newborn so sleep will soon be out of the question. I'm worried about the extra time it will take away from my kids on top of the added stress to them of having a new sibling to share my attention. Plus I just don't know if my mental capacities are up to it! That's partly why I'm writing now; I need the practice. I'm going back as an English major but have the hardest time putting cohesive sentences on paper. I can't focus when I try to read anything with more than 5 sentences per page. And no pictures! I hope I'll be able to get back into the groove of things quickly.
Liam was a pill today in church, well all day really. He's been so contrary. He says no to everything. He doesn't want to play with this or that or the other. He doesn't want to read or draw. When asking him what he wanted for breakfast he said "No" to all my offers then finally said, "Mom stop saying things." He pouted most of the morning, and told us countless times "you hurt my feelings." He told Mark he wanted to hit him on the head then said he wanted to go to time out, so he went to his room and read for a while - grumpily, and frowning. He hit me a couple of times in church. He threw a few toys and books that hit 3 people sitting in front of us in Sacrament meeting. He told me, "Mom, I hate you and my dad." He didn't want to go to his nursery class. He pushed all the hymn books off of the seats in our sunday school class. He told me he hated me and that I have to be sad. When he finally did decide to go to nursery he got there just in time for the lesson. They held up a picture of Jesus and asked who it was. Liam shouted, "Nobody!" I can't remember the other questions, but his answers were always, "Nobody," or "Nothing." Then he began hitting and fighting the other children so I gave up and brought him back to my class. He didn't want any of his toys to play with. Eventually i kept him quiet with some snacks and finally he was happy with a car that a sister let him play with.
It was a tough day. I hope he's feeling better tomorrow.
One bright note happened during church when the kids were hugging and kissing and rolling around on the bench. They said they were getting married.
After talking too the pregnant sister behind us for a while Julia whispered to me, "Mom, I have to talk to you." She motioned me to be closer and said, "No over here." She was crouching in front of the bench near the floor. I leaned closer and she said, "Does that woman have a baby in her tummy?" I told her she did and Julia was very excited for her. I thought her discretion was sweet.

life these days
I asked Julia who made her so precious and she answered, "You did! When I was a baby you taught me to balance and twirl and swirl and swirl and drive, All kinds of things!"
I forgot to announce that I'm pregnant! Mark and I are expecting our third around Aug. 1! yay!
Julia is thrilled! She loves to talk to the baby in my tummy and is hoping its a girl. I'm feeling more like its going to be a boy so I keep trying to prepare her for that possibility. I told her we have to wait until it gets bigger before we can see if its a girl or boy. She said, "To see if it has eyelashes?" Because of course girls have eyelashes. :)
Liam still is constantly letting me know that I "hurt his feelings." Its so sad every time I say "No" to him he starts bawling and says, "You hurt my feelings." Its darling when he tells me that he got hurt, "but that's o.k." Its also cute when I ask him if he is o.k. after he gets hurt and he tells me "No!" and looks at me like that was a ridiculous question because he just told me he was hurt and of course now he is not o.k.
Julia still thinks that "accidents happen, but that's o.k." She uses that stupid singy phrase from Elmo's Potty time as an excuse and I definitely don't recommend that video to parents trying to potty-train their children, because sometimes "accidents" are not o.k.
I signed Liam up for some mommy and me play activities. He's been going to a "little ninjas" class at a Tae Kwon Do place and he loves it. My purpose was to get to spend some time with him and to wear him out a little since I hate playing outside in the cold. Our first lesson he came out of and said, "Mommy, I'm tired of running around and around." Yay! Success! Before our second class, we dropped Julia off at Keira's then Liam asked, "Mom, are you going to stay at my class with me?" and I answered, "Yes, I get to go to your class with you!" He said, "That makes my heart feel very happy!" Oh, that made my heart melt. Unfortunately, I ended up "hurting his feelings" in class because I wouldn't let him do what he wanted and kept trying to direct him back to the class and then my heart broke because he didn't want to participate in the last half of class and just sat on the mat and moped. :(
